Who I am
My name is Kirsten van Hasselt and I operate Kiko Translations as a freelance translator in the Netherlands (Dutch Chamber of Commerce number 30212118 ). You may contact me in my capacity as the data controller through my contact form.
Why I process your personal data
I collect, store, and/or use your personal data only to issue a quote, provide a translation or editing service that you request or to comply with legal requirements. Personal data collected may include your name, postal address, email address, telephone number and/or employer details. I do not use your personal data for marketing purposes or share your information with any third party without your express consent.
The legal basis for processing your data is to perform the services you request or to take necessary steps prior to fulfilling that request (GDPR 6(1b) “performance of a contract”). The same legal basis also applies if you provide me with a service.
Who else receives your personal data
If I send a text for revision or editing to a colleague, that text will be anonymised, so your personal data will not appear in it. For administrative purposes, other parties may have access to your personal data, including my accountant, email hosting services, and cloud backup system. All these parties are GDPR-compliant.
How long I keep your personal data
I keep personal data for at least five years to comply with tax obligations. In the case of services received, I will keep your personal data for five years solely for administrative purposes. All email communications are routinely deleted. The personal data provided in the online contact form is kept in the online database for 14 days.
Your data access rights
You may contact me at any time to request a copy, rectification or erasure of your personal data.
Your right to lodge a complaint
Should you have any questions of concerns regarding how I store or process your personal data, please contact me. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority in the Netherlands or the country where you live.
